Who We Are
The Human Rights Protection Organization (HRPO) is a leading advocate for human rights in Sri Lanka, committed to defending the fundamental freedoms of all individuals. Founded on the principles of justice, equality, and accountability, we work tirelessly to ensure that every citizen—regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or social status—can live with dignity and security.

Our Vision
We envision a Sri Lanka where:
- Every individual understands and can freely exercise their rights.
- Justice is accessible to all, without discrimination.
- The government and society uphold human dignity as a fundamental value.
Our Core Values
- Justice & Equality – We fight for fairness in all aspects of life.
- Transparency & Accountability – We hold power to ethical standards.
- Empowerment Through Education – Knowledge is the key to freedom.
- Inclusivity – No one is left behind in the pursuit of rights.
Our Mission & Objectives

Protecting Human Rights
We actively monitor, document, and intervene in cases of human rights violations across Sri Lanka. Through legal aid, policy advocacy, and public campaigns, we strive to hold institutions accountable and secure justice for victims.

Raising Awareness
Many Sri Lankans remain unaware of their rights under the Constitution of Sri Lanka and international human rights laws, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). HRPO conducts workshops, publishes educational materials, and engages with communities to empower citizens with knowledge.

Advocating for Legal Rights
Laws exist to protect citizens—but only when they are enforced. We lobby for stronger human rights protections, push for policy reforms, and provide legal guidance to ensure that national legislation works in favor of the people.
